  • The main difference between the Glacier Express and the Bernina Express lies in the route, the journey time and the scenic highlights. The Glacier Express runs from Zermatt to St. Moritz or Davos and takes around eight hours, whilst the Bernina Express connects Chur or St. Moritz with Tirano via the Bernina Pass in around four hours. Whilst the Glacier Express passes through the Mattertal and the Rhine Valley and over the Landwasser Viaduct, the Bernina Express journey is characterised by high-mountain landscapes, glaciers and the Brusio Circular Viaduct.
  • The section between Andermatt and St. Moritz is considered the most scenic stretch of the Glacier Express, as it offers a variety of striking landscapes within a relatively short journey time. The train journey takes passengers through the Rhine Gorge, the region around Disentis and over the Oberalp Pass, amongst other places.
